About Us

Shaun Borrett MBE QGM began his distinguished military career in the Royal Navy in 1984 aged 18. He remained in the military until 2000, when he began a new career in property development and construction. That career has seen him move from initially building small residential properties and progressing over the last 10 years to building substantial country homes. 

Shaun’s no-nonsense approach and attention to detail have carried him through his career and underpin the values of Laburnum Associates. Shaun oversees all the projects, allocates project managers to each client, and is always personally available to speak directly to clients to ensure that his standards are maintained. 

Shaun’s personality and dedication to get things right have seen clients repeatedly satisfied with the homes Laburnum Associates have created. 

As the demand for Laburnums properties has grown, Shaun has expanded his team, Identifying the skills required to continue to offer the best experience for his clients, while producing the highest quality homes

Bespoke In-house Specialists

While Shaun presides as the Managing Director overseeing our big and beautiful builds, our specialist internal team bring the valuable skills to the table to deliver projects successfully. We have specialists dealing with quantity surveying, finance, client liaison, site management and procurement.

The team currently includes:

A Quantity Surveying Team – Making sure that the builds run smoothly as well as to cost. They are responsible for the hiring and management of external suppliers. Making sure that the quality of work is maintained.

A Finance Team – Responsible for the day to day managing of the companies finances. They work closely with both clients and suppliers to make sure the build process runs as smoothly as possible, while accounting and mitigating any unforeseen challenges which may arise.

A Client Liaison Team – Working closely with the client, they are responsible for keeping all parties as updated as possible throughout the build process. Making sure that all questions are answered as well as making sure the finished property is perfect in every way.

The Project Management Team – While the projects have their own direct management agents, responsible for the builds. The project management team’s responsibility is to make sure that targets are being maintained, in both time and quality. As well as offering experience and input when needed.

A Procurement Team – Responsible for sourcing and acquiring both materials and plant machinery, they make sure that only the finest products go into our properties.

In addition to our office based staff, over the years we have put together a panel of first-rate trade experts, bespoke artisans and crafts people to handle every aspect of our new builds.
